Simple tasty seasonal food

Large format book with lots of luscious photos, clean layout in typical Marie Claire style. There are probably 250 - 300 recipes divided by season covering salads, soups, starters, mains, cakes, puddings, marinades, even some jams. There are pictures of most, if not all, the finished recipes. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given that its author is food editor of Marie Claire Australia, there is a Pacific rim bias. The food is generally light & interesting. There are lots of fish & seafood dishes and south-east Asian and middle eastern influences. There are plenty of lovely fruit-based desserts e.g. vanilla peach meringues, rosewater pavlova with berries, passion fruit tart, peach tart (also flavoured with rosewater). Winter recipes include more substantial dishes such as roast beef with wild mushroom butter, or bean & sausage stew but there are still a lot of lighter dishes e.g. glazed duck breasts served with a salad, or lemon chicken with tomato salad.One word of warning - a note on the inner dust jacket states that "Along with dozens of fresh new recipes, Marie Claire Seasonal Kitchen incorporates recipes that have appeared previously in 'Comfort' and 'Luscious'" so if you have either or both of those cookbooks by the same author you may not want to bother. I don't have the other books so I can't tell how much duplication there is but I am guessing that there will be a fair bit of replication if they have included a note. If you don't have the other books, this is a great selection of healthy recipes which differ from those in most of the seasonal cookbooks I have come across.

This book is big! with big pictures and loads of pages, you have all types of recipes and all very healthy. Very easy to follow with simplified measures etc.. Very good buy! I love it, is so gorgeous that I just look at it when I don't even need to cook anything.
