Great introductory book to classic Italian recipes with a Cracco twist to them...Cracco is one of the most well know Italian chefs with several Michelin stars and host of the Italian version of Masterchef. He is known for his cynical, cold sense of humor which does transpire in the book. The recipes are mostly standard Italian recipes but he does give additional details on how to "treat" a certain cut of mean, what instruments to use, how to clean fish, etc. Even for classics like "risotto alla milanese" he does provide a bit of a twist and some additional color which is useful to read.I keep it on the kitchen shelf and occasionally I get some inspiration to try something I havent eaten in a while... this for me is well worth the price of the book.On the italian version of Amazon the ratings are quite low as I think people expected more creative recipes from Cracco. This is really aimed at the novice/occasional chef so I give it 5 stars because it does cater very well to that audience.

Great book for both novices and experts.

The book is a the same time a recipe book, a cooking tutorial and a narrative book on Cracco's life.The recipes are very tasty and of progressive difficulty.Each recipe comes with a general lesson and some key secrets chefs use, as well as some insights and memories from Cracco's life.A very nice book indeed. Even if you are not into cooking.

ottimo libro, con qualche chicca alla Cracco che non guasta se gia' si riesce a cucinare qualcosa di decente (prima di acquistare il libro). consigliato, bravo Cracco per il modo diretto di rivolgersi al lettore
